Job Summary

To ensure the speedy, efficient, and accurate delivery of pharmaceuticals to pharmacies and hospitals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and other traffic signs and giving due regard to other road users.
  • Perform a daily vehicle check to ensure roadworthy condition including lights, brakes, coolant, etc.
  • Report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.
  • Maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle together with its cleanliness.
  • Ensure sufficient quantities of fuel have been taken for the day’s work.
  • Maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.
  • Check all orders shown on the drop sheets and ensure all orders are loaded on the vehicle.
  • Collect goods returned for credit, mail, delivery bins and safely return to the branch at times instructed by branch management.
  • Ensure damages/breakages are dealt with promptly and correctly with due regard to special procedures for HazChems.
  • Always maintain a smart appearance.
  • Help maintain good customer relations.
  • Be involved in other duties including warehouse tasks as defined by Management.
  • Meet all Health & Safety requirements.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required

Essential

  • A full driving licence relevant to the vehicle being driven.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer care.
  • Intermediate numeracy and literacy.

Desirable

  • Previous experience of multi-drop delivery driving is highly desirable.
  • Route planning experience.
