Job Summary
To ensure the speedy, efficient, and accurate delivery of pharmaceuticals to pharmacies and hospitals.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and other traffic signs and giving due regard to other road users.
- Perform a daily vehicle check to ensure roadworthy condition including lights, brakes, coolant, etc.
- Report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.
- Maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle together with its cleanliness.
- Ensure sufficient quantities of fuel have been taken for the day’s work.
- Maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.
- Check all orders shown on the drop sheets and ensure all orders are loaded on the vehicle.
- Collect goods returned for credit, mail, delivery bins and safely return to the branch at times instructed by branch management.
- Ensure damages/breakages are dealt with promptly and correctly with due regard to special procedures for HazChems.
- Always maintain a smart appearance.
- Help maintain good customer relations.
- Be involved in other duties including warehouse tasks as defined by Management.
- Meet all Health & Safety requirements.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required
Essential
- A full driving licence relevant to the vehicle being driven.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer care.
- Intermediate numeracy and literacy.
Desirable
- Previous experience of multi-drop delivery driving is highly desirable.
