We are seeking a highly motivated Mortgage Adviser to join SPF Private Clients, part of the Howden Group, and the UK’s leading mortgage broker for six- and seven-figure mortgages. In this role, you will provide a professional advisory service to both existing and prospective clients, ensuring exceptional standards of client care and compliance with FCA regulations, including Consumer Duty. You will play a pivotal role in promoting SPF Private Clients’ reputation for excellence and delivering tailored solutions that meet our clients’ unique needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver expert mortgage advice to clients, ensuring good outcomes in line with FCA rules and company standards.
- Agree and implement a business development plan with your Supervisor to achieve qualitative and quantitative targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, introducers, and other stakeholders within your designated area.
- Conduct thorough analysis of client needs and provide bespoke recommendations and solutions.
- Ensure all advice and recommendations comply with FCA regulations and company compliance procedures.
- Maintain accurate records, update pivotal systems, and complete all associated administration to meet file quality standards.
- Submit business in accordance with company procedures and address any remedial actions promptly.
- Demonstrate continued competence through assessments and adhere to personal development plans.
- Take responsibility for your CPD and maintain required qualifications to act as a Registered Mortgage Adviser.
About the Person
Qualifications: Must hold the Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (CeMAP) or an equivalent recognised qualification.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of FCA standards and sourcebooks, including PRIN, COCON, FIT, TC, GEN, DISP, and MCOBS. Awareness of financial crime legislation such as SYSC, JMLSG guidance, and the Bribery Act.
Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong analytical ability and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively in a structured, compliance-driven environment.
