As a Vehicle Technician in one of our workshops, you’ll primarily repair and maintain our fleet of delivery vehicles, ensuring they are safe and roadworthy to VOSA and Partnership standards. Any time worked between 18:00 and 22:00 attracts an Evening Premium of £3.25 per hour, and any time worked between 22:00 and 06:00 attracts a Night Premium of £4.25 per hour. This applies to all Partners enrolled in Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements.

AT A GLANCE

  • Salary: up to £55,000, depending on skills and experience, plus readily available overtime.
  • Working Hours: Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week on a 2‑week rota, plus working 1 in 2 Saturday mornings at premium overtime rate.

  • Week 2: Monday‑Thursday 14:00‑22:00, Friday 13:00‑21:00
  • Contract: Permanent

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work on the large HGV fleet to ensure all vehicles are maintained to a safe and roadworthy standard in accordance with DVSA and Partnership requirements.
  • Complete relevant sections of all inspections, services, and defect sheets in compliance with ‘O’ Licence obligations, using the Key2 fleet management programme for accurate reporting.
  • Apply best practices and current commercial vehicle repair techniques to carry out high‑quality, cost‑effective repairs, ensuring appropriate use of spare parts and consumables.
  • Collaborate with experienced Partners, receive tools and support, and help develop apprentices within the workshop.
  • Support a collaborative and inclusive workshop environment as part of a co‑owned business.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • City and Guilds Level 3 Vehicle Technician or equivalent qualifications.
  • Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
  • Proven background in commercial vehicle repairs.
  • Knowledge of commercial vehicle legislation and roadworthiness.
  • IRTEC certification.
  • LGV C+E Driving Licence.
