Iron Mountain is seeking a motivated Media Systems Engineer to join our Media Entertainment UK team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimising critical media infrastructure used for audio and video ingest, processing, and large‑scale archive digitisation. You will join a specialised engineering and technology team dedicated to supporting high‑performance studio operations and media production workflows at our Feltham, London, facility.
What You’ll Do (Core Responsibilities)
- Support and optimise media ingest, processing, and Quality Control systems to ensure the reliable delivery of file‑based and legacy video digitisation workflows.
- Collaborate with studio operations, engineering teams, and technology leadership to install, configure, and maintain high‑speed network infrastructure and storage platforms.
- Ensure compliance with operational standards by performing routine preventative maintenance, monitoring system health, and creating technical documentation for all infrastructure and procedures.
What You’ll Bring (Skills & Qualifications)
- Proven experience supporting technology environments within the production, broadcast, or media industry.
- Strong knowledge of Linux and macOS systems administration, including a solid understanding of networking fundamentals such as Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs).
- Proven ability in troubleshooting complex system issues across networked storage environments, including Network Attached Storage (NAS) and Storage Area Networks (SAN).
- Technical expertise in media processing platforms or automated workflows using scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
