We are looking for experienced shift engineers to join our team and contribute their transferable skills to support our customers and drive our business forward. As a shift engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our systems and equipment. We are looking for individuals who are proactive, adaptable, and possess strong problem-solving abilities. What will you do?

  • Facility Infrastructure Maintenance: Ensure the seamless operation of our facility infrastructure through diligent maintenance practices.
  • Site Inspections & Monitoring: Conduct regular site inspections and monitor building and data centre alarms to ensure optimal performance.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Oversee and execute hands on preventative maintenance on site infrastructure, either directly or through vendor management, including managing the permit to work system (UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, and life safety systems. HV switching experience preferred).
  • Repairs & Corrective Maintenance: Perform and manage repairs and corrective maintenance on critical equipment to maintain uninterrupted service.
  • Planned Maintenance: Prepare and execute planned maintenance activities to ensure the reliability of our infrastructure.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive site logs and data records, including MOPs (Method of Procedure) and scripts.
  • Incident Response: Assist senior staff in responding to on-site incidents and take initiative in handling basic incidents based on your expertise.
  • Work Requests & Installations: Complete basic work requests and circuit installations efficiently.
  • Infrastructure Projects: Participate actively in ongoing infrastructure projects to enhance our facilities.
  • Work Projects: Execute works projects to improve site functionality.

Who are you?

  • Educational Background: ONC/BTEC/NVQ or equivalent qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: Previous experience in data centre or critical environment settings is beneficial.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of critical infrastructure, including UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, and life safety systems. HV switching experience preferred.
  • Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, flexible, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
