Role and Responsibilities
- Lead the processes in maintaining and preserving the efficiency of all equipment, production lines, and/or facilities, resulting in the optimization of technical and financial resources.
- Oversee execution of ordinary and extraordinary maintenance of equipment, production lines, and/or facilities.
- Manage and update technical documentation.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on various types of machines/equipment (e.g., bearings, conveyors, pneumatics).
- Support Electrical maintenance engineer with sensors, motors, control panels, etc.
- Maintain tools and carry out repairs to equipment to ensure safe working order.
- Propose improvement projects for processes and production lines aimed at reducing maintenance and optimizing operational and energy efficiency.
- Respond to emergencies, breakdowns, malfunctions, and other operating problems to minimize disruption in the production process.
Qualifications for the Role
- Time-served or formally qualified in Mechanical engineering.
- Proven experience in mechanical fitting, assembly, or maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
- Electrical engineering knowledge.
- Experience with tool setting and machine tool setup, with strong familiarity across workshop machinery such as lathes, milling machines, drills, and grinders.
- Working knowledge of maintenance practices using CMMS systems, including the ability to analyse data to drive continuous improvement and optimise performance.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical data to support manufacturing processes and equipment enhancements.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels across the business.
