What you’ll do

We are seeking a Director with technical credibility, strong commercial instincts, and a track record of delivering transformation across sectors such as Consumer, Retail, TMT or Financial Services. This role is ideal for individuals who blend industry and consulting experience, who can influence stakeholders at all levels, and build long‑lasting trusted client relationships.

You will drive high‑impact engagements that sit at the intersection of business value, technology strategy, and execution – providing independent, senior‑level expertise that enables executives to drive value from Technology and as a result to improve business performance. The depth of our colleagues’ experience enables us to exert a rapid and sustainable impact across:

  • Digital and Technology strategy development, operating model, capability and governance design.
  • Technology and Product strategy and innovation, assisting our clients with the strategy and execution.
  • Technology investment roadmaps and value creation plans.
  • Technology cost reduction, outsourcing and end to end Transformation.
  • Technology assessments leading to possible re‑platforming, rationalization and consolidation activities.
  • Technology due diligence, carve‑out, and merger integration planning and execution.
  • IT crisis management and project turnaround.

You will lead and/or co‑lead our small, focused teams in delivering projects. They work closely with PMDs to ensure the successful delivery of all elements of client engagements and often collaboratively with the Directors across other areas of AlixPartners. They will sometimes work across a small number of projects at any given time bringing a flexible and adaptable approach to the following:

  • Lead large and high complexity projects from inception to completion, via small teams in a highly collaborative nature with the client.
  • Deliver advanced technical and consulting expertise in the following Technology areas: Strategy, due diligence, general technology assessments, strategic architecture, operating model, cost modelling and cost reduction, turnaround of large scale “troubled” projects and company separation (carve‑out) or integration (merger) projects.
  • Be recognized as a go‑to person for specific technical/industry/functional knowledge.
  • Continuously develop individual skills, capabilities, and knowledge.
  • Continuously improve and innovate internally and externally. Stay ahead of client, Firm, and market demands.
  • Develop intellectual capital and compelling service offerings.
  • Improve processes, create practical tools and build infrastructure.
  • Develop business opportunities and build sustainable relationships and external networks.
  • Maintain a market presence and support AlixPartners in the market.
  • Serve as an ambassador of the AlixPartners brand.
  • Demonstrate a service mentality. Work diligently to anticipate client needs, develop and implement solutions, and exceed expectations.

What you’ll need

  • MBA or Master’s degree an advantage, but valid experience in conjunction with a Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Preferably you will have a mix of consulting and industry experience, with an ability to deliver small projects and/or working across multiple workstreams of larger projects.
  • Knowledge and practical experience within Technology or IT in at least 2 of the following areas: IT strategy, IT cost optimisation, software delivery, infrastructure and operations, architecture, governance, project management and target operating models.
  • Experience of implementing projects in a variety of environments, using different methodologies and frameworks.
  • You demonstrate a keen personal interest in Technology and Digital and remain up to date in the latest trends and potential impacts on industry.
  • You are passionate about driving IT effectiveness and enabling clients to achieve their business objectives.
  • Excellent communication and presentation capabilities and ability to communicate effectively at CXO and Senior levels.
  • Outstanding analytical and critical thinking skills along with strong financial literacy.
  • Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of an additional language would be advantageous.
  • You are confident when collaborating with clients and stakeholders, with the ability to build relationships, influence and provide advice to key decision makers.
  • Experience leading or contributing to business‑led technology transformations, digital growth initiatives, or value creation programs.
  • Ability and willingness to travel across EMEA.
  • Willingness to work outside of normal business hours, and in particular as unique projects/needs arise.
  • Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.
