As we continue to grow our client base and support increasingly complex transformation programmes, we are hiring a Client Principal / Technical Engagement Manager to take ownership and lead our major strategic accounts and act as the senior bridge between our technical teams and our clients’ senior stakeholders, to ensure value realisation, account growth and delivery.

  • Culture and Revenue focused Interview with CEO.

  • To have resided in the UK for at least the last 5 years.
  • Have no criminal records.
  • Have no financial irregularities.

About the Role

This is a senior, client-facing engagement leadership role responsible for driving account success, delivery quality, and commercial growth across Appvia’s high-profile cloud transformation engagements. You will own the relationship with one or more strategic accounts, working on various projects from cloud migration and automation to platform engineering and AI enablement programmes and will ensure that Appvia becomes a trusted, long-term strategic partner. This is a multi-faceted, post-sales role blending technical account leadership, delivery oversight, stakeholder engagement, and commercial ownership. You’ll work closely with our CEO, Head of Cloud Solutions, Head of Solutions Engineering, and Practice Leaders, ensuring clients see measurable value from our work while identifying opportunities to deepen and expand the partnership. This role is also billable and will play a key part in shaping Appvia’s future client engagement model and the evolution of a wider Client Solutions function.

Key Requirements:

  • Client Relationship & Strategic Account Ownership
    • Act as the senior lead contact for the client account: establish, nurture and deepen relationships at executive and senior stakeholder level.
    • Understand the client’s business drivers, cloud strategy, pain‑points (cost, governance, developer productivity, time‑to‑market), and position Appvia’s value accordingly.
    • Develop account growth plans: identify and prioritise new opportunities, coordinate with sales/pre‑sales, define proposals, and support contract negotiations.
    • Monitor health of the account: satisfaction metrics, retention, usage of our platform/services, referenceability.
  • Engagement & Delivery Oversight
    • Oversee the portfolio of projects/engagements within the account: ensure governance, appropriate resourcing, milestone adherence, risk/issue management, budget/margin tracking.
    • Provide technical oversight: ensure architectural integrity, alignment with cloud best‑practices (governance, security, platform engineering), quality of deliverables and alignment to client strategy.
    • Work with internal teams (engineering/architects, consulting, service delivery) to ensure capability and capacity for the account.
    • Run customer workshops and educational sessions to help customers understand the journey, approach and expectations on adopting platform engineering, AI or data platforms.
    • Act as an escalation point for major delivery issues, guiding resolution, and maintaining client confidence.
  • Growth & Value Realisation
    • Translate technical delivery into business outcomes: e.g., developer productivity uplift, cost savings, faster release cycles, governance/compliance improvements. Use metrics to track value delivered.
    • Develop and present value‑case updates, account reviews, roadmap presentations to the client leadership.
    • Identify new product/service offerings that match the client’s next‑phase needs (for example: AI accelerator, cost optimisation, internal dev‑platform, Kubernetes automation) and help position them.
    • Lead internal lessons‑learned and continuous improvement: capture what works in the account, feed improvements back to Appvia’s offering.
  • Internal Collaboration & Leadership
    • Work cross‑functionally: with sales/pre‑sales, product teams, consulting/engineering, finance, and marketing/referrals to ensure the account’s growth and delivery success.
    • Mentor more junior engagement/delivery leads within the account (or across accounts) to build a delivery organisation that scales.
    • Contribute to Appvia’s thought leadership: participate in client workshops, speak at customer events, contribute case‑studies or white‑papers (optional but preferred).

How to prepare for a job interview at Dormont Manufacturing Co

Brush Up on Your Technical Skills

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

IT consulting is all about solving problems for clients. Think about how you can illustrate your approach to a past challenge using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). It's a great way to show how you tackle complex issues and come up with effective solutions.

Be prepared with examples that demonstrate your adaptability, communication skills, and how you handle client feedback. Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
