Our solutions foster the collaboration that’s critical for safer communities, safer schools, safer hospitals, safer businesses, and ultimately, safer nations. The Avigilon Alta Video UI team is responsible for the mission-critical infrastructure that powers our VMS. We are currently evolving our platform to support deep-tier interconnection across the Motorola product portfolio. Our team values high-performance engineering, architectural integrity, and a commitment to building the most reliable real-time tools in the industry.

While our stack features Vue 3, Pinia, and TypeScript on the frontend and Go on the backend, we prioritize engineering fundamentals over specific library knowledge. We are looking for a seasoned developer who can navigate complex logic, manage sophisticated state, and help us steer our architecture forward. We have an office in Uxbridge (West London) and fully embrace a hybrid home/office working model, with an aim for 2 days in the office.

An individual in this role will:

  • Analyse, develop, design, and maintain software for the organization’s products and systems.
  • Perform system integration of software and hardware to maintain throughput and program consistency.
  • Develop, validate, and test structures and user documentation.
  • Architect and implement complex state management patterns and robust API integrations to support a scaling ecosystem.
  • Optimise delivery by contributing to CI/CD pipelines and leveraging Firebase services for rapid, reliable feature deployment.

Basic Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a heavy focus on modern frontend architecture.
  • Complex Logic & State: Proven ability to manage intricate application states and data flows (e.g., Pinia, Vuex, or Redux).
  • API & Infrastructure: Deep understanding of consuming RESTful APIs and hands-on experience with Firebase and CI/CD workflows.
  • Technical Stack: Advanced proficiency in TypeScript and modern CSS/HTML.
  • Engineering Mindset: A strong foundation in design patterns and the ability to drive architectural changes across a large codebase.
  • Collaboration: Demonstrated team player skills and a willingness to mentor others.

Desired Skills

  • Resilient Systems: Excitement about building, operating, and maintaining resilient, scalable systems.
  • Global Architecture: Passion for architecting scalable frontend systems that impact a global community of users.
  • Observability: Drive for frontend observability to understand performance and be able to diagnose complex logic problems.
  • Remote Culture: The team is highly distributed across geographies, and you will thrive in an environment of remote work and asynchronous communication.
