Your workload will be diverse and exciting. You'll support project teams on niche and high-profile schemes within complex infrastructure, from evaluating project time, cost, and quality targets to leading communication and monitoring project governance control for successful delivery. You'll work across a range of projects in the Transportation, Infrastructure and Energy sectors.
Your role:
- Establish, monitor, and manage the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) and periodically collate KPIs & progress data related to time, cost, risk, change and quality to report to senior leaders of the project.
- Develop and implement an appropriate performance measurement system such as earned value management and integrate it into periodic reporting.
- Develop, improve where required and implement the change control processes of the project.
- Chair and/or facilitate the necessary project level change forums, escalation change papers that require additional approvals and ensure all choices are enacted within the change control system and toolsets.
- Co-ordinate multiple contributors to conduct change impact assessments and support the Programme Management team in driving agreement on 'best for Programme' decisions.
- Lead periodic and ad-hoc reporting, taking ownership for its quality, accuracy, and robustness, and ensure the monthly project review pack is compiled and presented to the management team on time.
- Integrate schedule, cost, scope, quality, change and risk data to provide a full picture of project health and provide interpretation of the data contained in monthly reporting pack to support prompt decision making.
- Work closely with Planning, cost management and risk functions and deputise for Project Controls lead to improve/sustain operating policies, procedures & processes, and ensure its proper application by the Project Controls team.
- Support the leadership team by providing specialist advice and technical knowledge to resolve delays, issues, and other challenges throughout the project.
- Undertake maturity assessment to identify areas of improvement and implement change initiatives to improve maturity of project control functions in a project or programme environment.
- Where required, management of a Project Controls team.
About you:
- Excellent knowledge and proven hands-on experience of leading project controls functions within large, complex infrastructure or construction projects.
- Working knowledge of schedule management, cost management and risk management practices.
- Possess a strong aptitude to supervise schedule, cost, risk, reporting and change management activities.
- Experience in functional leadership of Project controls team and delivering results within a large-scale project environment.
- Ability to manage stakeholders and information flow in a matrix environment.
- Knowledge of transport, energy, major infrastructure, or construction projects (under NEC Forms of Contract).
- Project controls or project management qualification from APM or similar accrediting bodies.
