About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Social Impact, you will be building and implementing Airwallex’s impact initiatives and strategy around the world. As a fairly new function, and as the 3rd team member after the President/Co-founder Lucy Liu and the Director, you will play a critical role in building Airwallex’s impact function globally – it is a “zero to one” role, a startup within a startup.
The remit of Airwallex’s impact function can best be understood as a question: How can Airwallex - a purpose-driven business that exists to help businesses thrive - leverage its unique constellation of business assets (e.g., product, technology, data, talent, capital, brand, network) to contribute to society, while ensuring activities help support Airwallex’s long‑term business objectives, whether it be strengthening brand trust, contributing to the employee value proposition, etc.
A core part of the role will be leading our initiative to drive Airwallex platform adoption amongst organisations that serve the world such as social enterprises, nonprofits, and multilaterals, and thereby helping these organisations better serve the world. You will also have opportunities to lead a variety of other initiatives, and will only be bounded by your own capacity.
Airwallex’s commitment to impact is underpinned by its participation in Pledge 1%, a global movement for corporate impact, where Airwallex has pledged 1% of its equity, product, profits, and time toward contributing to society. The role will be based in London.
