What does an Edit Producer do at WPP Production?

We are seeking a highly organised and creatively attuned Edit Producer to join the UK Post Production team and lead the delivery of editorial projects across advertising, branded content and commercial post production. This role sits at the heart of the edit offering, connecting clients, creatives, editors and wider post teams to ensure projects are run smoothly, creatively and efficiently from brief through to final delivery.

This is a key production role for someone who understands both the craft and the pace of editorial in a commercial environment. You will be responsible for scoping jobs, building schedules, managing budgets, briefing editors, overseeing workflow and ensuring the edit process supports the creative ambition of the work while remaining commercially and operationally robust.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience from an advertising, agency, post house or editorial production environment. You will be comfortable working closely with senior creative stakeholders and clients, managing multiple fast‑moving projects at once, and helping shape the conditions in which editors and creative teams can do their best work.

You will play an important role in strengthening the editorial offer at Gramercy Park Studios – helping deliver beautifully crafted work, building trusted client relationships and ensuring a seamless connection between edit and the wider post production pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage editorial projects from initial brief through to final delivery, ensuring clear scope, timings, budgets and workflow from the outset.
  • Act as the key point of contact between clients, agency teams, creatives, editors and wider post production teams throughout the lifecycle of each job.
  • Build and manage edit schedules, bookings and resourcing plans, ensuring the right editorial talent is aligned to the right projects.
  • Partner closely with editors and creative teams to support the development of cuts that are strategically sound, creatively strong and responsive to client needs.
  • Run edit sessions confidently and professionally, creating a calm, solutions‑focused environment for clients, agencies and internal teams.
  • Manage feedback and approvals with clarity and precision, ensuring comments are captured accurately and translated effectively into the next stage of work.
  • Take ownership of budgets, estimates, cost tracking and reconciliations for editorial projects, maintaining strong commercial control throughout.
  • Identify risks and solve problems proactively, whether relating to timelines, feedback cycles, editorial scope, versioning or downstream delivery requirements.
  • Work closely with producers and specialist teams across colour, VFX, motion, CGI, audio, finishing and delivery to ensure a smooth handoff from edit into the wider post pipeline.
  • Support new business opportunities, award entries and case study development where relevant, helping showcase the studio’s editorial capability.
  • Help refine ways of working, processes and best practices across the edit function to improve efficiency, collaboration and creative outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships with freelance and permanent editorial talent, contributing to a collaborative and high‑performing creative culture.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience as an Edit Producer, Editorial Producer or similar role within a post production company, agency, production company or advertising‑focused content environment.
  • Excellent understanding of the editorial process within commercial post production, including offline workflows, review cycles, approvals, versioning and delivery.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing creative quality, client service, timing and budget.
  • Experience working closely with editors, creative directors, agency teams and clients in a fast‑paced commercial setting.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and confidence in building schedules, scopes and budgets.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to keep projects moving and relationships strong under pressure.
  • A clear understanding of how editorial connects to wider post production disciplines including colour, audio, VFX, motion, finishing and delivery.
  • Commercially aware, solutions‑oriented and calm in deadline‑driven environments.
  • A collaborative approach and a strong instinct for how to create the conditions for great editorial work.

Desirable

  • Experience in a boutique post production or high‑end commercial editorial environment.
