Capital on Tap started to help small businesses find the financial tools they need. We now offer a best‑in‑class business credit card, spend‑management platform, savings product and a suite of tools that make running a small business easier. This is a hybrid role based in our London (EC1Y 8LZ) offices, 3 days per week.
What You’ll Be Doing
- As a Senior Fraud Data Analyst you will take end‑to‑end ownership of our fraud systems from onboarding fraud through to card fraud.
- You’ll build and refine the capabilities that support new product launches.
- Write complex SQL queries to interrogate transaction and customer data, identify fraud signals, and surface emerging attack patterns.
- Design and build fraud detection rules from scratch, set thresholds based on data, and iterate based on live performance.
- Own rules end‑to‑end – from spotting patterns to building detection logic and monitoring outcomes.
- Work across card and lending data to understand customer behaviour and fraud risk within our product set.
- Contribute to fraud strategy, including input into ML‑based detection, as the team grows.
We’re Looking For
- A strong data‑analysis background in fintech or digital lending; comfortable handling messy, high‑volume SMB or consumer transaction data.
- Hands‑on SQL skills, including CTEs, window functions, and awareness of WHERE vs HAVING.
- A genuine builder instinct – proactive problem discovery and resolution.
- Experience owning analytical projects end‑to‑end, not simply handing logic to a tech team.
- Comfortable in a small, fast‑moving team where solutions are not always obvious.
Nice to Have
- Direct experience in card fraud – ideally within a bank, card issuer, or fintech on the issuing side.
- Hands‑on familiarity with card fraud systems and associated data (Visa fraud platforms, CNP fraud, 3DS/SCA, PSD2 compliance).
- Experience with APP fraud or faster payment fraud systems.
Diversity & Inclusion
We welcome, consider and encourage applications from anyone who shares our commitment to inclusivity. We strive to create a space where authenticity thrives and everyone can do their best work.
Benefits
- Private Healthcare including dental and opticians services through Vitality.
- Worldwide travel insurance through Vitality.

- 28 days holiday (plus bank holidays).
