Reporting to the Head of UK & International Royalties, you will work within a team of 20, supervising one member, ensuring deadlines are met and providing expertise on accounts and audit queries. This role is predominantly project based. The Royalty Department is the first point of contact for all royalty related queries. The role holder will interact with senior management and clients or client representatives to confirm requirements and provide necessary information, seek constant improvements and achieve best working practices. The role holder will also approve payments and statements.
Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for timely and accurate preparation of royalty accountings for the A&R consultants on a six-monthly basis, reviewing contractual entitlements, relevant products and raising payments where necessary.
- You will approve royalty statements with an acute level of attention to detail.
- You will ensure all payments due are processed by the contractual deadlines.
- You will assist with external artist audits.
- You will manage the relationship with W Songs, providing support and information as required.
- You will act as a point of contact for the Statement Portal, resolving queries and registration issues.
- On an ongoing basis, review processes, procedures, and systems within the Royalty Department.
- Manage ad-hoc projects at the direction of the Head of UK & International Royalties.
Qualifications
- You are educated to a minimum A-level standard (with good academic grades).
- You are highly organised with an excellent level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- You have the ability to work well under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.
- You have experience managing a team.
- You are prepared to take responsibility and be accountable for your own workload.
- You are ambitious, eager to learn and take on new projects.
- You are comfortable communicating with employees at all levels and artist management.
Preferred qualifications
- Previous royalty experience or experience within the music or finance industry.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and data analytics.
- A passion for music.
