About the role and the team: eBay is looking for a PR Specialist to join the global communications team, working on a variety of company priorities spanning eBay Live, Fashion, Collectables and consumer-to-consumer (C2C) selling. In this role, you’ll work closely with local and global partners across PR and communications, marketing, brand, and business unit teams, collaborating with colleagues in the UK, US, Germany, France, and Italy, as part of a global function. The role is based in our UK office in Richmond, London, reporting to a Senior Communications Manager. What you will accomplish:

  • Help drive eBay’s consumer narrative and value proposition across Live selling, Fashion, Collectables and C2C – demonstrating the ability to understand the nuances of the marketplaces and their categories, while looking after the bigger picture of the business at-large.
  • Execute integrated strategies and campaigns that extend beyond typical PR, effectively driving increased consideration of the marketplace through earned media.
  • Partner seamlessly with eBay’s marketing and business units, providing strategic and sound counsel and partnership.
  • Collaborate seamlessly within eBay’s consumer PR team and the vertical leads as well as corporate and internal comms teams.
  • Manage global agency partners on milestone campaigns.
  • Foster existing and new relationships with key press across Live, Fashion, Collectables, lifestyle and more.

What you will bring:

  • An established track record within PR, preferably including both in-house and agency experience.
  • A demonstrable interest in and knowledge of the Live selling, Fashion, Collectables, or C2C marketplace.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and across multiple time zones in a dynamic team environment.
  • Ability to connect the dots between business initiatives to find and build news or identify industry trends where eBay can stand out as an innovator and leader.
  • Experience driving successful PR strategies and creative campaigns that are strongly rooted in business goals.
  • Proven record of pitching and placing proactive media stories and reactively managing press inquiries to drive eBay’s brand narrative.
  • Excellent consumer media relationships.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills.
