About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional, highly experienced Personal Assistant to support the Publisher & CEO. This is a pivotal role requiring a proactive, highly organised individual who can operate with discretion, pace and sound judgement. You will act as a right hand to the CEO, anticipating needs, managing priorities and ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day activity. The role demands resilience, adaptability and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast‑paced, high‑profile environment. A strong interest in media, news and current affairs is advantageous.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure the smooth running of the CEO’s office and day-to-day activity
  • Manage a complex, fast-moving diary – prioritising effectively and resolving conflicts quickly
  • Act as gatekeeper – managing access, communications and escalation with sound judgement
  • Build strong relationships across the business and with external partners
  • Handle highly confidential information with absolute discretion
  • Arrange and manage global travel, including detailed itineraries and logistics
  • Support CEO-led projects, research and business initiatives
  • Partner with EAs across the business to keep leadership aligned and operating at pace
  • Plan and deliver internal events, ensuring seamless execution
  • Manage expenses and oversee administrative processes efficiently
  • Support office logistics, including team space, moves and reconfigurations
  • Provide ad hoc support to the wider leadership team and Managing Editor’s Office as required

Person Specification

  • Extensive experience supporting CEO or C‑suite executives
  • Operates with pace, accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Clear, confident communicator – both written and verbal
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including senior and external partners
  • Calm under pressure, with a proactive and solutions‑focused approach
  • High level of discretion and professionalism
  • Advanced proficiency in Outlook, Word and virtual meeting platforms
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities
  • 7+ years’ experience in a similar role

This role will require flexibility, and the hours may vary including some low‑level out of hours ad‑hoc availability requirements.
