About the Role (What you'll be doing)
In a nutshell... At Eucalyptus, we are constantly launching new products, capabilities and markets. We bring in commercial generalist talent from high pressure environments, give you the single responsibility for business casing, scoping, project-managing and delivering against our major new initiatives, and equip you with the training & tools to succeed.
This is an opportunity to work with leaders across the business to take ownership of a key piece of work from concept through to delivery. To be successful in this role, you have to work cross-functionally with technology, product development, operations, growth and creative specialists to deliver a product or service that customers love. There is a huge amount of autonomy attached to these roles - we like to hire great people (no matter your background), surround you with the resources you need and trust you to make decisions and execute.
In the past, these roles have been the training grounds for leaders who would eventually become general managers for our brands, country leads and C-suite executives. As we expand, and the complexity in the business increases, there will be opportunities to lead the setup of new brands, new markets, and new distribution channels.
In this role you will need to...
- Deeply understand the problems you are solving. Go deep into the science, get hands on with the product, and effectively leverage our panel of experts across and around the business to understand the space better than anyone else.
- Be responsible for tailoring every aspect of the patient experience to the context of the surface area you are working on (eg. localising an offering to a new market).
- Track and report performance metrics, and implement strategies to drive your new vertical towards functional maturity or conviction that we should stop investing.
- Get stuck in - eg. write emails, find partners, deliver a white glove experience to patients; and then scale yourself out of this role by hiring and managing cross-functional resources to scale experiments you are responsible for.
- Drive focus, accountability and motivation across the team through rituals, reporting & stakeholder updates.
Examples of who you would be working with
This role reports falls under the VP of International, Ryan Nolan (London, UK) and will work closely with the following:
- Deniz Ekmekci: Senior Launcher - International Expansion
- Owi Weerawardena: Launcher - International Expansion
- Benjamin Emmanuel: Launcher - International Expansion
- Jordan McTeare: Global Head Performance Marketing
- Henry Winter: General Manager - Germany
We are hiring roles in London only.
About you (Who you are)
Skills and experience:
- You have between 2-3 years experience working in a high pressure environment such as law, consulting (MBB preferred) or investment banking. In addition, we will prioritise candidates who also have between 1-3 years working as an operator, preferably in a recent high-growth startup. We are open to considering candidates with other experiences, however we operate at the intensity of these types of organisations and are uncompromising on our expectations.
- You have built a team, managed people or delivered complex cross functional projects. You are a demanding and supportive leader. You make decisions objectively and carry them out with empathy.
- Creative problem-solver and detail oriented: You are highly organised, and not fazed by complex or ambitious problems. You are able to think critically, and break down big goals into smaller workstreams to empower others to act. You can design, manage and scale processes, adapting them as required at the various scales of the operation, and ensure a high degree of accuracy in your outputs. You can see the forest for the trees, and an expert systems thinker.
- Accountable to the numbers: You are highly literate both financially and in operational data, have a strong understanding of the metrics that matter across a variety of business functions. You build systems that hold yourself and others accountable to the numbers.
- Communicate with clarity: You communicate incisively, honestly and often, leveraging the most appropriate mediums for different types of messages. You are able to synthesise complex concepts into clear insights and narratives that resonate with a broad audience.
- Executional powerhouse: Strategy is simple, achieving it through flawless execution is what's hard. Maintaining momentum will require good judgment and acting quickly within a fast-paced environment. You are not afraid to lead from the front, and get your hands dirty when it matters.
Behaviours & Attitudes:
- You act like an owner, and a servant leader: You have a charismatic 'can do' attitude. You are motivated by impact and driven by wanting to help others. You go the extra mile to create outcomes for your team, stakeholders, and our patients. You know when you need to lead from the front and get your hands dirty. You relish in the success of empowering others to do their best work.
- Relentlessly ambitious: You get excited by setting audacious goals, rallying the team to chase after them, celebrating the win, and doing it all over again. You understand that healthcare could be so much better and more accessible for millions of people worldwide, and are excited to relentlessly push for meaningful change in the world.
- Craving for curiosity: You are self-motivated to understand the reasons beneath the surface of the numbers. When metrics are off track, you are not satisfied until you have interrogated the system deeply to determine whether the issue is intermittent or persistent and requires thorough evaluation and improvement of the system. When metrics are ahead of track, you seek to understand whether it can be replicated across the business before celebrating the win.
- Calm, collected and resilient: You thrive in a fast-paced, chaotic, startup environment where you will need to balance quality with velocity and a MVP mindset. You understand how to prioritise, manage multiple projects end to end and deliver growth results within a highly ambiguous environment. You are able to still the chaos into specific executable action for your teams.
- Desire to develop others and yourself: You foster a strong desire to learn and develop. You can easily adapt in a fast paced environment and consider every new experience as an opportunity to learn. You strive for excellence in yourself and others, are hungry for feedback to improve, and settle for nothing less.
