The role is to provide best in class international commercial management to third party distributed labels signed to UMG, focusing on physical product. The role requires a natural born communicator with a keen commercial acumen able to understand basic P&L information and use excel to a good standard, alongside excellent administration and a can-do proactive approach to label support and problem solving.

The role sits in an international commercial team at UMG but will interact with many other teams such as supply chain, release management, finance, international markets and external labels, so will require a natural born communicator with excellent relationship management.

Skills & Experience

  • Be Commercial: The role will be the international commercial representative to third party labels – BMG, HYBE, JYP, Big Machine, Concord – providing best in class commercial service to support the international planning function for new releases from the distributed labels and the catalogue management.
  • Provide international sales data and insight to influence physical product mix.
  • Provide new release and catalogue forecasting to third party labels.
  • Communicate third party label release sales information to international markets.
  • Providing and facilitate third party label physical pricing.
  • Be Collaborative: Be the point person for markets for commercial queries on third party labels.
  • Work hand in hand with supply chain and labels on High Security protocols where required.
  • Solicit territories for commercial marketing opportunities and feed back to third party labels and follow through with markets.
  • Digital partner support where relevant to third party label.
  • Be Organised: Ensure setup in UMG systems alongside release management and supply chain.
  • Generate monthly sales and stock reporting for third party labels.
  • Ensure accurate and regular market recharging of distribution costs to third party labels.
  • Maintain third party recharging rate card.
  • Manage flow of information between third party labels and UMG international D2C.
  • Ensure third party catalogue stock is regularly reviewed to provide reports and strategy for reducing overstocks, ordering more stock and deleting lines.
  • Maintain third party release schedules and distribute to international markets.

Person Specification

  • Previous experience within a marketing/commercial role.
  • Numerate with a clear focus on high quality, attention to detail.
  • A born communicator who enjoys interaction with all levels in business and able to manage these relationships.
  • Excellent ability to develop relationships.
  • Proactive and a keen problem solver.
  • Sales orientated and able to achieve sales targets.
  • Excellent IT skills, with experience to include Excel, Presentation Tools (Keynote, PowerPoint).
  • Well organised with the ability to plan and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive approach to work.
  • Diligent and reliable, capable of managing and delivering on multiple projects simultaneously and to a high standard, both autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Experience of working on own as well as part of a team, and with colleagues at all levels.
  • Must be proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • A passion for music.
  • Experience of supply chain, release management, stock management or physical distribution is an advantage.
