Your role involves establishing and leading a centralised global bid function within our Global Payments division. This role acts as a commercial control point across complex, multi-rail, cross-border payments opportunities, improving qualification discipline, increasing win-rates, protecting margin, and industrialising bid execution globally.
You will design and embed a global bid framework that determines what we pursue, shapes how we win, systemises repeatable deals, and orchestrates execution across Sales, Partnerships, Product, Risk, Legal and Compliance. This is a high-judgement, high-impact role focused on enterprise payments opportunities where strategic coordination and commercial discipline materially influence outcomes.
Role Responsibilities
- Qualification & Commercial Control
- Establish formal bid / no-bid decision logic for global payments RFPs
- Implement qualification frameworks (strategic fit, margin profile, complexity etc.)
- Protect sales capacity by preventing low-value or misaligned pursuits
- Introduce pricing guardrails and commercial risk controls early in the deal cycle
- Partner with Risk, Legal and Compliance to ensure structured early engagement on regulated, multi-rail deals
- Strategy & Deal Shaping
- Own strategy development for priority RFPs and complex proactive proposals
- Shape solution scope, commercial positioning and narrative
- Influence pricing, deal structure and commercial constructs at pre-bid stage
- Align Product, Partnerships, Risk and Legal into a single coordinated response
- Elevate win probability through structured messaging and differentiation
- Scale & Industrialisation
- Build and govern a global content and response library (modular, approved, reusable)
- Standardise answers for core, transition and expansion use cases
- Deploy and optimise RFPIO / bid tooling integrated with Salesforce
- Reduce response cycle times while improving consistency and quality
- Enable repeatable partner-led and multi-region deals without linear headcount growth
- Execution & Conversion
- Own orchestration of handoffs across Sales, Partnerships, Product and Operations
- Introduce SLAs and governance for response timelines
- Track conversion rates, velocity and drop-off across bid stages
- Continuously improve bid performance based on data and outcomes
- Support monetisation of integrated partner and multi-rail deals
- Strategic Payments Opportunities
- Lead structured pursuit of strategic enterprise RFPs
- Multi-rail, regulated cross-border mandates
- Partner-driven global opportunities
- Proactive proposals in priority verticals and geographies
This role exists to win the hardest, highest-value payments deals while systemising the rest.
Qualification & Skills
- 8+ years in enterprise bid management, RFP strategy, or complex commercial deal structuring within fintech, payments, banking, or regulated financial services

- Proven ability to improve win-rates and commercial discipline in enterprise sales environments
- Experience operating across global, matrixed organisations
Skills & Capabilities
- Strong commercial judgement and pricing fluency

- Executive-level communication skills
Leadership Profile
- Structured thinker
- High ownership
- Operates comfortably in ambiguity
- Balances control with collaboration
- Focused on leverage and quality, not volume
