This role is ideal for a skilled carpenter with strong experience in:
- Fire door remedial works
- Fire door installations
- Fire door compliance
- Fire stopping and adjustments
- Understanding BM TRADA / FIRAS standards and current fire safety regulations
We are looking for someone who can confidently identify compliance issues, carry out high-quality remedial works, and ensure fire doors meet current regulations and certification standards.
The Role
You’ll be carrying out a mixture of:
- Fire door installations
- Fire door remedial works
- Adjustments and easing
- Replacing intumescent strips and smoke seals
- Door closers and ironmongery upgrades
- Fire stopping works
- General carpentry maintenance
- Property repair works across residential and commercial properties
You will also:
- Identify non-compliant fire doors and advise on remedial solutions
- Complete works in line with fire safety regulations
- Liaise professionally with clients and tenants
- Maintain accurate job records and photographs via smartphone
Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years carpentry experience
- Proven fire door experience
- Good understanding of fire door compliance and regulations
- Experience with fire door remedial works and installations
- Ability to work independently and problem solve on site
- Strong communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
- DBS Certificate/check
- Smartphone literate
Highly Desirable:
- FIRAS / BM TRADA experience
- Own van and tools
- Experience working within occupied properties
