The Europe team operates as a startup within Plaid, dedicated to creating Europe-specific products that will expand Plaid’s global footprint. As a member of the Europe team, you’ll have a significant opportunity to shape Plaid’s direction and strategy in Europe. Your contributions will be highly visible and crucial to our success. As a Software Engineer on the Europe team, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and improve Europe-specific payments and credit products. You will build frameworks and tooling to ensure Plaid has the most resilient and highest-performing integrations with European banks. You will work with engineering and product teams across Plaid to localise new and existing global Plaid products for the European market.

Responsibilities:
  • You will partner with other teams across Plaid, working closely with other engineering teams as well as Product, Design, Data Science, and more to iterate on and productionise new products and improve existing products.
  • You will deeply understand client needs and architect solutions tailored to their use cases.
  • You will own projects, step up as a trusted member of the team’s on-call rotation, and follow best practices to increase overall system reliability.
Qualifications:
  • 2-5 years of experience as a product engineer working full-stack (backend-leaning).
  • Excellent coding and testing skills.
  • Experience working with large scale backend systems.
  • (Nice to have) Experience working on payments products or in the payments space.
  • (Nice to have) Experience working with Open Banking APIs.
