This role forms part of the Delivery function within Global’s Transformation team. The Delivery function focuses on the delivery of Global’s Technology & Digital product roadmaps. You will be responsible for creating and executing plans to deliver key Technology & Digital initiatives, building effective relationships with Product, Engineering and other business and technical stakeholders. You will work closely with one or more squads to identify and resolve blockers and issues, identify and resolve dependencies and ensure delivery is on time and on budget.

3 best things about the job:

  • Being instrumental in the delivery of the technology roadmap for one of the most exciting transformation agendas in the media and entertainment market in the UK and beyond.
  • Working with stakeholders from across Global’s business to deliver value to Global’s audiences, advertisers and partners.
  • Having the authority to identify, coordinate and implement change and turn good ideas into reality, quickly.

Measures of success:

  • Understood the inflight projects and the roadmap for your assigned area.
  • Gained a robust understanding of the operations of the business function(s) and supporting product(s) you will be working with.
  • Built effective working relationships and established clear responsibilities and accountabilities with the squad(s) you work with day-to-day.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Work alongside the Product Owner and Tech Lead in your squad(s) to understand the ‘what and how’ of the product roadmap.
  • Facilitate creation of the plan (the ‘when’) for the squad(s) and manage its execution, adapting rapidly as priorities shift or new tech capabilities emerge.
  • Work closely on a day-to-day basis with your squad(s) to ensure they are clear, unblocked and producing high quality outputs, leveraging AI tooling to accelerate delivery where appropriate.
  • Identify risks and issues within your squad(s) and mitigate, resolve or escalate as appropriate; proactively flag when legacy approaches may limit agility.
  • Understand inbound and outbound dependencies to deliver the plan; track and resolve these dependencies.
  • Respond to and resolve issues as required in product development, testing, deployment or post-launch, including live incidents.
  • Communicate clear summaries of progress against baseline plans and any changes, including root cause explanations, to other technology stakeholders.
  • Champion modern delivery processes, including rapid prototyping, hypothesis-driven development, and AI-assisted workflows; identify the most appropriate model(s) and implement improvements.
  • Contribute to a high-performance culture within your squad(s), with a clear sense of accountability for outcomes; celebrate success and experiment, iterate, and learn from failures.
  • Track, understand and communicate changes in squad throughput and performance using metrics, including AI-driven insights where valuable.

What you will need:

  • Strong working knowledge of software development practices, methodologies and release lifecycles, with awareness of AI/ML development patterns (e.g., model training, versioning, deployment).
  • Hands-on comfort with AI tooling (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, automation platforms) to enhance your own productivity and support squad adoption.
  • Experience in supporting the creation of project plans and delivery of product roadmaps, including iterative approaches for emerging or experimental technology.
  • A focus on outcomes and business value, not process for process’s sake.
  • An ability to prioritise tasks based on importance and urgency, re-prioritising confidently as technology or market conditions change.
  • An eye for detail and a willingness to understand the business context and technical content you are working with.
  • A keen ability to identify and resolve blockers and issues.
  • Emotional intelligence and empathy; a strong ability to build effective working relationships with both business and technical stakeholders through periods of disruption and change.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing, ensuring squad members and other stakeholders are clear and seeking clarification where necessary.
  • Effective facilitation skills to provide direction, and maintain focus and momentum.

You’ll be someone who:

  • Is energised by change and technology disruption, not daunted by it.
  • Is curious about AI and emerging tech, with a desire to learn how they can improve how we work.
  • Isn’t afraid of detail and wants to ‘understand the why’.
  • Is a natural collaborator who enjoys working with a variety of teams, roles and people.
  • Is resilient and maintains a positive, solutions-focused attitude in the face of ambiguity, setbacks or rapid pivots.
  • Is flexible and adaptable, with an approach on outcomes; you understand the theory but can adapt to day-to-day reality.
  • Is comfortable operating in fast-changing, AI-influenced environments where best practice is still emerging.
  • Is comfortable leading through facilitation and building consensus, including with those who have greater experience and/or technical expertise.
