Business Context
You will join the FX Risk IT environment of a leading tier-1 investment bank. The team is responsible for designing and maintaining mission-critical systems supporting FX Cash (Forward, Swap, NDF) and FX Derivatives (Options, Carbon Offsets). The environment is built around the Orchestrade vendor platform and involves close collaboration with traders, quants, and risk managers to deliver high-performance trading solutions.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior C# / .NET Developer with a strong technical background to lead the development and integration of FX trading solutions. While expertise in the Orchestrade platform is highly desirable, we are primarily seeking a high-caliber engineer who can master complex vendor APIs and provide technical leadership within a fast-paced, agile culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Development: Analyse, design, and develop high-performance C# solutions for FX cash and derivative products. Develop code to integrate Orchestrade with connected internal systems such as Sigma, Barracuda, and Deal Hub. Advise on the best architectural approaches for integrating vendor products with service-oriented and micro-services concepts. Design clean interfaces and manage data flow using SQL and messaging middleware.
- Engineering & Mentoring: Provide mentoring and guidance to other developers on C# best practices and FX business logic. Take ownership of specific project deliveries, applying agile methodologies and project management skills where required. Drive high engineering standards through continuous integration and DevOps practices.
- Production & Support: Provide expert-level support for production Orchestrade systems and connected FX IT platforms. Ensure all developments comply with internal systems, controls, and regulatory requirements.
Technical Environment & Skills
Essential Experience:
- Expert C# / .NET: Substantial experience in software development with deep knowledge of the .NET ecosystem.
- Investment Banking: Prior experience working in a Front Office environment alongside traders, quants, or risk managers.
- Backend & Middleware: Strong understanding of SQL/RDBMS and messaging middleware.
- Architecture: Solid grasp of service-oriented and micro-services design concepts.
Valued Technical Exposure (Desirable):
- Orchestrade: Strong experience with Orchestrade features, configurations, and APIs.
- FX Domain: Knowledge of FX Forward, Swap, NDF, and FX Options/Derivatives.
- Cross-Platform: Experience with C++, Java, or FIX protocol.
- Other Vendors: Familiarity with Calypso, Murex, or similar trade management products.
