What you will do
As a Business Development Manager within our Global & Strategic vertical, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities with Tier 1 and multinational organisations. This is a new-logo focused role, centered on building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and positioning the full Johnson Controls portfolio across security, fire, HVAC, BMS, and digital smart building solutions. You will play a critical role in growing our presence within the Global & Strategic services sector and supporting long-term, sustainable growth.
How you will do it
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Global & Strategic sector, with a clear focus on new corporate logo acquisition
- Build and develop strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers at all levels of prospective client organisations
- Understand customer challenges and requirements, positioning Johnson Controls’ end-to-end solutions to meet their needs
- Develop and execute strategic business development and account penetration plans to generate leads, increase revenue, and grow market share
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date activity, pipeline, and opportunities within Salesforce CRM
- Work closely with internal teams, including bid, solutions, and operations, to support successful proposals and client onboarding
- Ensure a structured handover of newly secured accounts to account management teams, while retaining focus on continued new business development
- Monitor market trends, customer drivers, and competitor activity to support informed sales strategies
What we look for
- Proven experience in a business development or sales role, ideally within global, strategic, or enterprise environments
- Demonstrated track record of winning new corporate clients and achieving sales targets
- Experience selling into or supporting multinational, blue-chip, or Tier 1 organisations
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders
- Self-motivated and results-driven, with a proactive and structured approach to opportunity development
- Experience using Salesforce CRM or similar sales tools
- Strong objection-handling and negotiation skills
- Willingness to travel nationally and occasionally internationally
- Full UK driving licence
