Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Global Head of Technology and AI Risk, the Senior Analyst is responsible for the execution of AI risk management processes for the Global Risk Management (GRM) function.
- Lead the GRM review and assessment of AI use cases, and related processes and controls against Capital Group’s policies and standards, industry risk frameworks, and regulatory expectations.
- Provide AI risk expertise as part of the incident and problem management processes in relation to AI.
- Ensure effective identification, assessment, and quantification of risk as part of the AI intake process.
- Proactively identify and elevate risks/gaps through the AI lifecycle and across all components of the AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF).
- Communicate findings and recommend enhancements to strengthen risk posture, control effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor metrics and investigate risk triggers that may indicate a risk or control issue and actively manage these issues.
- Partner effectively with technology and business teams on incident and problem management related to AI.
- Prepare risk reporting and relevant AI risk documentation, including policies and standards, and Board/Committee materials, for Global Risk Management.
- Continuously review and challenge first‑line processes, procedures, and controls against AI‑related policies and standards, industry frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
- Build trusted relationships with first‑line product managers, technology and business process and control owners.
- Foster effective collaboration with cross‑functional teams, including Technology, Security, and Third‑Party Risk, and Legal and Compliance teams.
- Develop data risk insights through innovative use of AI capabilities and tools.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of AI‑specific risk management principles, responsible AI practices, and theories, enabling you to drive enhancement of AI management and risk management processes and controls.
- Knowledge of model risk, data protection, technology risk and other specialized topics to evaluate AI use cases and influence related risk treatment strategies.
- Demonstrable knowledge of risk management frameworks and industry standards (e.g., NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001) and their practical application in a technical environment.
- Experience assessing risks and controls in relation to AI and/or related technology and security.
- Deep technical and practical operational understanding of AI model risk management in real‑world environments.
- Technical understanding of data protection concepts, security risk management, AI model/system lifecycle, AI failure modes, and risk characteristics.
- Fluency in responsible AI best practices, and incident management.
