As a Power Platform Engineer at Avanade, you will build complex, enterprise scale solutions using Microsoft Power Platform to solve our clients’ biggest problems. You will translate requirements into high quality, production ready applications and automations, working closely with architects, business analysts, testers and client stakeholders to deliver outcomes that matter. This is a hands-on engineering role with a strong delivery focus. You will apply sound engineering practices across the full solution lifecycle including design, build, test, release and support, while ensuring robust application lifecycle management, security and data modelling. Experience with Copilot Studio is preferred; if you do not have this today, this role is a great opportunity to learn and get experience with Copilot Studio and the latest Microsoft AI technologies.

Role Responsibilities

  • Build and enhance enterprise scale solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps (canvas and model driven), Power Automate, Dataverse and AI Builder.
  • Work with solution architects and technical leads to implement agreed designs and ensure alignment with security, governance, scalability and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and client stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into functional, user friendly solutions.
  • Partner with testers and quality engineers to plan and execute testing, resolve defects and ensure solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Design and implement Dataverse data models, including tables, relationships, business rules and security roles appropriate for enterprise solutions.
  • Implement security best practices across the platform, including role based access, environment controls and data protection considerations.
  • Build integrations using standard, premium and custom connectors, and design API based integration patterns where required.
  • Where appropriate, use Azure services including Azure Functions to extend Power Platform solutions and support more complex integration or processing needs.
  • Apply application lifecycle management practices for Power Platform, including solution packaging, environment strategy, deployment approaches and release management.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and solutions, proposing pragmatic enhancements focused on quality, performance and maintainability.
  • Stay current with Power Platform capabilities and contribute to knowledge sharing within delivery teams and wider communities of practice.
  • Where required, support pre-sales activities through technical input, demonstrations and proof of concept development.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Hands-on experience building solutions with Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Microsoft Power Platform certifications are desirable.
  • Experience working in consulting or professional services environments.
  • Experience considering performance, reliability and operational support for enterprise scale solutions.
  • Familiarity with enterprise governance approaches and Centre of Excellence patterns for Power Platform.
  • Experience with Copilot Studio is preferred. If not currently held, a willingness to upskill over time is expected.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Strong communications skills, with the ability to explain technical decisions and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working collaboratively with architects, business analysts, testers and other engineers within multidisciplinary delivery teams.
  • Ability to work from requirements through to functional implementation, including configuration, build, testing and support.
  • Experience extending Power Platform solutions using Azure services such as Azure Functions where appropriate.
  • Experience integrating solutions using standard and premium connectors, and building and maintaining custom connectors where needed.
  • Experience implementing application lifecycle management practices for Power Platform, covering environments, solutions and deployment processes.
  • Experience using AI Builder to add intelligent capabilities to Power Platform solutions.
