The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

Your role is to operate the recovery plant for antibiotics on a 12‑hour, 5‑shift pattern rota to deliver the annual committed volumes to budgeted efficiency. You will ensure safe plant operations and quality standards are maintained, take ownership of the plant, and undertake simple problem solving to resolve issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate manufacturing plant equipment (manual and computer‑controlled) in line with cGMP requirements.
  • Monitor performance, identify deviations, and take appropriate action.
  • Support raw material receipt, sampling, warehousing, and product dispatch.
  • Carry out routine sampling and basic analytical activities as required.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant documentation (batch records, logs, SAP entries, etc.).
  • Ensure all activities are conducted safely, following EHS procedures and permits to work.
  • Participate in environmental monitoring and maintain high housekeeping standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Coach and support other team members where required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience with process plant equipment including pumps, valves, isolations, large unit operations, and control systems (HMI).
  • Technical Operations experience.
  • Proficient in computer‑controlled and manual plant operations following SOPs.
  • Understanding of Safe Systems of Work.
  • Experience working with and performing LOTO activities, hazard awareness, and reporting.
  • Strong problem solving, action planning, and execution skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously within bulk processing operations.
  • Experience with batch production documentation and performance reporting.
  • Understanding of quality systems compliance.
  • Commitment to working within a safety‑first environment.
  • Experience within chemical, bulk pharmaceutical, petrochemical, process manufacturing, or food processing industries.
  • Experience working shifts across control room and manual plant operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • DeltaV or similar control systems experience.
  • Experience within recovery plants or similar process environments.
  • Knowledge of water extraction and drying systems.
  • Experience working in cGMP / FDA / MHRA regulated environments.
  • FLT licence.
  • Experience with deviation management and CAPA processes.
