Overview of the role

We’re looking for a highly creative and strategic Senior Motion Design Manager who will lead the development and delivery of world‑class motion design across digital platforms and live event experiences. This role blends high‑level creative direction with hands‑on technical expertise, ensuring every motion asset enhances storytelling, strengthens brand identity, and engages audiences. The Senior Motion Design Manager will act as a visionary and mentor, guiding a team of motion designers while collaborating across departments to deliver compelling and innovative work. This role follows a hybrid approach, allowing you to combine working from home with working in our modern offices. Discussions are between you and your manager to find the best pattern, recognising that quality time together is essential for keeping us mission‑aligned.

What you’ll do

  • Motion isn’t just about animation or design — it’s about creating experiences that move people, visually and emotionally.
  • Work alongside the Head of Creative and Senior Creative Manager to define and drive the creative vision for motion design across campaigns, events, and brand initiatives.
  • Translate brand guidelines and campaign concepts into impactful motion content.
  • Manage ideation, storyboarding, and conceptual development for animation and motion projects.
  • Mentor and inspire a team of in‑house motion designers, animators, and external freelancers.
  • Work closely with project managers to allocate resources effectively across multiple concurrent projects, balancing creative ambition with delivery requirements.
  • Maintain high production standards, ensuring all outputs are delivered on time, on budget, and to specification.
  • Stay up to date with trends, tools, and emerging technologies in motion graphics, animation, and immersive media.
  • Introduce new techniques and workflows that enhance efficiency, creativity, and quality.
  • Explore opportunities in AR, VR, real‑time rendering, and interactive motion experiences to keep the brand at the forefront of innovation.

What you’ll bring

  • 10+ years’ experience in motion design, animation, or visual effects, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership role.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in 2D and 3D motion graphics, animation, and storytelling.
  • Expert knowledge of After Effects, Cinema 4D, Premiere Pro, and Illustrator, with familiarity in Blender, Unreal Engine, or other advanced motion tools.
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor motion design teams.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Experience managing budgets, supplier relationships, and cross‑functional teams.
  • Experience producing motion content for live events, broadcasts, or large‑scale productions.
  • Familiarity with content marketing and performance‑led creative.
