Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Ownership of the delivery of engineering projects.
  • Lead and assist with technical workflows.
  • Make key technical equipment decisions and assist with procurement.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal/external clients and suppliers.
  • Create and manage project documentation including but not limited to project timelines, workflow/system schematics and cable schedules.
  • Liaise with external wireman regarding scheduled works.
  • Line management responsibilities for Engineers.
  • Lead the training and development of knowledge and experience within the Engineering team on the core equipment and software under your brief to ensure consistent quality of support at all times.
  • Develop skills to cover all aspects of the broadcast chain, staying informed and educated on new technical developments and operational practices.
  • Use available tools to analyse systems for technical integrity and complex fault resolution, understanding all technology used within your responsibility and the relevant underlying engineering principles.
  • Work as part of a wider dynamic engineering team towards engineering excellence including developments and special projects within IMG’s Studios.
  • Share monitoring and compliance with all Health and Safety across the Engineering team.
  • Provide leadership cover for the other Lead Engineers.
  • Pro‑actively participate and share the responsibility for the recruitment, management, pastoral care, and supervision of the general Engineering Team.
  • Document and communicate both technical and operational issues when required, including assisting with the proper maintenance of the Asset Register.
  • Work in a consultative and advisory capacity on projects directly related to existing business needs, growth, new business pitches and RFPs, including written documents, diagram preparation, and full budget preparation.
  • Maintain and update any paperwork required as efficiently as possible.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Strong experience working in Broadcast and IT within an engineering capacity.
  • Previous project delivery experience.
  • Proven experience in Broadcast IP network design and implementation – SMPTE 2022, 2110, NMOS.
  • Strong IT and Networking skills.
  • Good ability to manage and develop Engineers.
  • Project management experience is desirable.

Working Conditions

  • This is a permanent role based at our facility in Stockley Park, Uxbridge.
  • The core working hours are Monday‑Friday office hours.
  • Occasionally be required to work late nights or weekends for technology migration or other works/events relating to this area of responsibility.
