You would be a kdb+ engineer in the Historical Market Data team within IB Technology. You would drive change and support our numerous global kdb+/time‑series market data platforms. You would oversee many business‑driven initiatives and work in collaboration with other engineers across market data engineers and our Market Data Services team. Our strategic intraday and historical market data platforms are heavily used across numerous business and technology groups and sit on critical path for many activities including: EOD Marking and P&L, Algo Quant analysis, back‑testing and algo calibration and numerous use‑cases within Regulatory / Risk as source of observable market data. You would be working in an agile environment, balancing between achieving short‑term business goals and long‑term sustainability.

Your key responsibilities:
- Everyday coding in kdb+/q.
- Acting as SME and Lead for features within larger platforms.
- Face off to the business in multiple regions to understand requirements and translate it into design and delivery.
- Work effectively in a small, flat and regionally distributed multi‑skilled team which supports kdb platforms for our businesses globally.
- Take end‑to‑end responsibility for delivery: working with other IT groups to define and deliver proper hardware infrastructure, deploy kdb components and work with Support teams to establish monitoring.
Your skills and experience:
- Significant hands-on kdb+ development and exposure to Financial Market Data.
- Strong understanding of kdb+ architecture and design best practices.
- Understanding of Market data vendors (LSEG, BBG, ICE etc.) and their services and pricing models.
- Ability to collaborate with many high‑performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals whilst demonstrating excellent communication skills.
