The Emerging Markets Debt team manages approximately $35 billion across a range of investment strategies. The team analyses the macroeconomic and political environments of more than one hundred countries and translates these fundamental views into investment ideas. Our research process leverages traditional news and crowd-sourced media, economic data releases, relationships with economists and political analysts, and on the ground travel to meet with policy makers and in-country experts. We exploit both long and short investment opportunities and use a variety of sovereign bonds, currencies, equities, and other cash and derivative instruments to execute our strategies. Our team is made up of highly motivated professionals with diverse backgrounds who complement our global perspective.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide proactive, detail-oriented administrative and business support to the Emerging Markets Team, including complex calendar management, travel coordination, meeting scheduling, preparation of itineraries and agendas, and expense processing.
- Support selected research-related tasks at the discretion of the team and subject to business priorities.
- Demonstrate flexibility, responsiveness, and the ability to support a global investment team across time zones.
- Arrange domestic/international travel, including developing detailed agendas, managing any visa requirements, and addressing other travel/logistics related requirements as needed.
- Prepare, submit, and monitor expense reports and vendor payments for investment team members, leveraging tools such as Concur, Tymetrix and Smaart.
- Manage telephone coverage as needed, including responding to inquiries, routing calls, and taking detailed messages.
- Manage other miscellaneous administrative activities including technology requests, preparing copies, managing supplies, coordinating equipment needs, reviewing/distributing incoming mail, and maintaining a fully-functioning work area for the team.
- Back-up coverage for admin colleague(s) during planned or unplanned absences from the office.
- Demonstrate discretion with sensitive information related to firm, team, and/or staff.
- Assistance with executing legal documents to be signed by various team members.
- Special projects and requests as needed.
Qualifications
- Substantial relevant administrative support experience in a professional environment, preferably in the investment management industry.
- Educated to A-Level or equivalent.
- Anticipates needs, exercises sound judgment, identifies process improvements, solves problems independently, operates with a high degree of ownership.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities, variable hours, and evolving team needs.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple competing priorities under tight deadlines.
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and take independent initiative for action within areas of responsibility, while also exhibiting sound judgment on when to seek guidance and take direction.
- Highly service-oriented, solutions focused, collaborative individual with the ability to work well both as an individual contributor and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with Corporate Services Travel Online (CSTO), Concur, and other Firm systems preferred; at minimum demonstrate ability to learn new systems quickly.
