We are seeking a talented individual to join our Wealth team at Mercer. This intern role will be based in Hong Kong.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in setting client’s portfolio strategies, including asset allocation, investment manager selection and risk analysis, leveraging Mercer’s proprietary analytics tools and third-party research resources.
- Support client’s portfolio management and monitoring, such as fund performances and attribution analysis, and maintain in-house databases.
- Assist in actuarial valuations and scheme designs for local and global pension plans, as well as experience analysis (e.g. assumed vs realized turnover) to facilitate assumption setting process.
- Support probabilistic cash flow modelling using sophisticated actuarial modelling techniques for pension schemes on a project basis.
- Assist in researching complex investment ideas, financial market events, global pension market trends and product offerings.
- Prepare ad-hoc marketing materials to support business development initiatives and proposals.
- Provide timely updates on developments in capital markets and pension landscape to the team.
- Participate in resolving simple client queries and support senior colleagues on project delivery.
- Work with different offices and teams across the broader Mercer Wealth business.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate with solid academic track record, preferably in numerate degrees such as Economics, Finance, Actuarial Science, Engineering and Mathematics.
- Strong analytical and technical skills.
- Comfortable with conducting complex comparative analysis with large datasets in an efficient manner.
- Self‑motivated, attention to details, organized and ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, and Bloomberg Terminal.
- VBA, Python, R or other programming language a plus.
- Fluency in English and Cantonese. Mandarin would be a plus.
