About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Business Partner for our landside operations across the UKI, encompassing warehouses and depots activities. As the primary point of contact for all HSE matters across your scope you will play a vital role in ensuring our operations are prepared, protected, and compliant. You’ll collaborate with site leaders, local operations communities, and customers to drive HSE standardization, execute risk mitigation strategies, and embed a culture of resilience. Travel within UKI is required, as needed, to support operations and initiatives. This role will be based in the East Midlands with hybrid working structure and is open for local employment only.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Site Managers and Safety Champions in identifying workplace hazards and implementing effective risk controls using the hierarchy of control.
  • Ensure compliance with APMM global HSE standards and advise on local legal requirements.
  • Coach leaders on HSE leadership, share best practices, and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis of incidents and learning activities to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Operations, HR, and Procurement to ensure effective HSE controls for third-party labour.
  • Advise on safe work design, risk elimination during operational changes, and equipment-related hazards.
  • Promote the use of visual management tools to engage frontline teams in HSE practices.
  • Coordinate HSE Committees, training needs, and emergency response capabilities across sites.
  • Conduct regular site visits, inspections, and support waste management programs.
  • Lead HSE impact and risk assessments during business growth or integration projects.
  • Support delivery of regional and global HSE improvement strategies through structured governance and reporting.

What We’re Looking For

  • 8+ years’ experience in HSE roles, ideally within logistics, supply chain, or operational environments across multiple sites.
  • Recognised HSE qualification (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent) and/or practical experience in safety, risk, or compliance roles. A relevant university degree (e.g. Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Risk Management) is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong leadership, effective communicator, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence within a matrix environment.
  • Collaborative mindset with a natural ability to build trust and create alignment across diverse teams and geographies.
  • Analytical and data-driven, able to translate insights into actionable safety improvements.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving and risk mitigation.
  • Detail-focused, with a commitment to ensuring compliance and driving continuous improvement.
  • Comfortable navigating change, ambiguity and driving behavioural and cultural shifts in HSE performance.
