We are seeking to recruit a Principal Designer / CDM Consultant.
Your role is primarily based on the delivery of Principal Designer / CDM Services, with experience in additional Health & Safety Services considered an advantage. Based in our Tunbridge Wells, Epsom or London Nova Offices, you will cover a range of sectors including retail, housing, commercial property, manufacturing, infrastructure, public sector and education.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing Principal Designer / CDM Services on both independent commissions and to complement our wider project delivery services.
- Production of pre‑construction information, H&S files and other associated CDM documents.
- Ensuring designer compliance.
- Reviewing contractors’ documentation including tenders and construction phase plans.
- Interfacing with clients and design teams on a project basis.
- Conducting site H&S inspections/audits.
- Advising clients on procurement options and consultant appointment issues.
- Being proactive in business development of the services within the region.
- Keeping updated with current legal developments in respect of construction and associated law.
Requirements:
- We require a consultant with suitable and relevant experience, ideally from a design or construction background.
- Possess or be working toward a NEBOSH National / Construction Certificate.
- Be a member of APS, IOSH and/or CIOB, or be working toward membership.
- Hold a relevant design or construction‑related qualification (preferred but not essential).
- Have good IT skills and working knowledge of MS 365: Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Show knowledge and understanding of the component parts of CDM 2015 and other Health & Safety legislation.
- Have working knowledge of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
- H&S training capability will be an advantage.
