The Role

As Head of IMS Compliance, you’ll take overall responsibility for ensuring the organisation’s Integrated Management System remains compliant with a wide range of regulatory and industry standards, including AS9100, Part 21G, Part 145 and ISO frameworks. You’ll play a key leadership role in embedding compliance, governance and continuous improvement across the business, working closely with senior stakeholders and operational teams. You’ll lead the development, implementation and ongoing management of the IMS, ensuring it remains effective, up to date and aligned to regulatory requirements. This includes managing audit programmes, overseeing non‑conformance and corrective action processes, and ensuring robust change management practices are in place. You’ll be responsible for reporting on the performance and effectiveness of the IMS to senior leadership, identifying trends, risks and opportunities for improvement. You’ll also lead and host regulatory and customer audits, ensuring the business is fully prepared and that any findings are addressed in a timely and effective manner. Alongside this, you’ll manage and develop the IMS team, providing coaching, training and direction to ensure strong capability and consistent standards across the function. You’ll also play a key role in promoting a culture of compliance and continuous improvement across the organisation.

About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring a strong technical background and extensive experience working within highly regulated environments, ideally aerospace or a similar industry. You’ll have in-depth knowledge of IMS standards and frameworks, including AS9100 and ISO standards, and experience leading audit programmes and managing compliance processes. You’ll be an experienced leader, comfortable managing teams and influencing at all levels of the organisation. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills are essential, particularly in relation to non‑conformance and corrective action processes. You’ll be confident communicating complex information clearly and effectively, with the ability to engage stakeholders and drive improvements across the business. Experience with quality systems and tools such as Q‑Pulse or similar, along with strong IT skills, will be important. A recognised qualification at Level 6 (or equivalent experience), along with Lead Auditor certification, would be expected. You should also be comfortable with regular travel and working flexibly to meet business needs.
