Job Purpose

Lead end-to-end media strategy and execution across Unilever Malaysia, driving superior brand growth through data-driven, consumer-first, and social-first media excellence. Accountable for building best-in-class media capabilities, leveraging digital, data, and emerging platforms to maximize brand impact, deliver ROI, and accelerate marketing transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the end-to-end media strategy across all categories (BPC, Home Care, Foods) aligned to business and brand priorities.
  • Drive social-first, digital-first media transformation across awareness, engagement, and commerce funnels.
  • Translate consumer insights, market trends, and data into growth-driving media strategies.
  • Own integrated media planning and deployment across all channels (digital, social, search, e-commerce, TV, OOH).
  • Lead agency partners to deliver best-in-class execution and continuous optimization.
  • Ensure campaigns are culturally relevant, data-driven, and performance-led.
  • Establish robust measurement frameworks, KPIs, and attribution models.
  • Continuously optimise media investments using real-time data and analytics.
  • Deliver maximum ROI and productivity of media spend through disciplined budget management.
  • Act as the primary interface with media agencies, publishers, and platforms.
  • Build strong partnerships to unlock innovation, value, and preferential access.
  • Collaborate with procurement to drive cost efficiency and media productivity.
  • Lead adoption of new media technologies, platforms, creator ecosystems, and AI-driven solutions.
  • Build first-party data and audience-led media planning capabilities.
  • Continuously identify emerging opportunities to future-proof media strategy.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing media team.
  • Upskill the organization in media, digital, and data capabilities.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Brand, CD, CMI, and Finance teams to drive integrated growth.

Key Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years experience in media, digital marketing, or related roles, preferably in FMCG or leading agencies.
  • Strong expertise in digital, social, performance media, and emerging platforms.
  • Proven track record of leading end-to-end media strategy and delivering business impact.
  • Strong understanding of media planning, buying, measurement, and analytics.
  • Strong commercial acumen with an ROI-driven mindset.
  • Experience managing agencies and complex stakeholder environments.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to translate data into actionable insights.
