Role Overview
The Head of Cyber Advisory & Service Delivery at Apex Group is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the Apex Group cyber security service delivery & Cyber Security Advisory capability and operational delivery across its global financial services, asset management, and fund services platform. Operating within a highly regulated, multi‑jurisdictional environment, this role ensures that cyber services and associated risks are effectively managed across Apex’s client‑facing services, internal operations, and technology platforms. The role balances strategic cyber services, cyber and IT monitoring and response services, risk leadership, regulatory alignment, and technical operational excellence, supporting Apex’s growth, acquisitions, and evolving regulatory challenges and client demands. As a trusted partner to the business, this role plays a critical part in protecting client assets, sensitive financial data, and operational resilience across Apex’s global footprint.
Key Responsibilities
- Cyber Security Services & Cyber Security Advisory Services
- Lead the global cyber security advisory function supporting Apex’s global businesses.
- Provide Secure by design, IT risk‑based cyber security advice to business leaders, product teams, and technology functions.
- Oversee Technical and Operational Cyber Services and risk assessments for:
- Asset managers, fund structures, and regulated entities.
- Client onboarding and complex mandates.
- Cloud platforms, data platforms, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Mergers, acquisitions, and integration activities.
- Translate cyber and technology risks into clear business, financial, and client‑impact outcomes.
- Support regulatory interactions and audits across multiple jurisdictions.
- Service Delivery & Operational Excellence
- Own the end‑to‑end delivery of cyber security services across Apex Group, ensuring consistency, quality, and scalability.
- Define and mature the cyber service delivery operating model aligned to Apex’s global business lines.
- Establish and track service KPIs, SLAs, and performance metrics.
- Drive operational resilience by ensuring cyber services support business continuity, disaster recovery, and client service obligations.
- Partner with Technology, Operations, and Client Services to embed security into day‑to‑day operations.
- Banking, Asset Management & Client Focus
- Ensure cyber security services align with the needs of banking, asset management, private markets, and fund services clients.
- Support client due diligence, RFPs, and ongoing client assurance requests.
- Act as a senior cyber representative in client‑facing engagements where required.
- Ensure Apex meets client expectations for data protection, confidentiality, and operational resilience.
- Perform all duties requested by the Group CISO to deliver the Target operating Model and Cyber Security Strategy.
- Governance, Regulatory & Compliance
- Oversee cyber security policies, standards, and control frameworks aligned with ISO 27001, SOC, DORA, NIST, and other related standard and frameworks and financial services best practices.
- Ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, DORA, KSA, UAE, MASA, FCA, CSSF, SEC, Central Bank of Ireland, data protection laws).
- Partner closely with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Internal Audit functions.
- Support operational resilience and third‑party risk management programs.
- Leadership & People Management
- Lead and develop global cyber Technical and Operational Services, advisory and service delivery teams.
- Build a strong delivery culture focused on accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Manage strategic cyber security vendors and service providers.
- Support talent development in line with Apex’s growth and acquisition strategy.
Key Skills & Experience Required
- 10+ years of experience in cyber security leadership, with senior leadership experience in financial services.
- Strong background in banking, asset management, fund services, or regulated financial institutions.
- Proven experience leading cyber advisory, risk, and service delivery functions.
- Managing a P&L and building a cyber security business practice/service.
- Deep understanding of financial services regulations, operational resilience, and client assurance.
- Experience operating in global, multi‑entity, and acquisition‑driven environments.
- Strong executive, regulator, and client‑facing communication skills.
Preferred
- Professional certifications (CISSP, CISM, CRISC, ISO 27001).
- Experience supporting asset managers, funds, and institutional clients.
- Knowledge of service delivery, cloud security, data protection, and third‑party risk.
- Consulting or managed services background within financial services or Cyber Services.
- Managing and building a P&L.
