Electrical Engineering Specialist – Full‑time role, 37.5 hours a week on a term time only basis. Location: HMS Sultan, Portsmouth. Due to the nature of this role, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance at SC level.
What you’ll be doing:
- Delivering training modules within Electrical Marine Engineering to the Royal Navy
- Conducting both theory and practical training in Electrical Engineering
- Ensuring outstanding relationships with the customer and within the Marine Engineering Electrical training area
- Assisting in maintaining and updating training documentation and assessing student coursework to provide feedback on performance
- Utilising best practice across the establishment to inform and direct quality and improvement activities across RN training
- Responsible for the duty of care and progression of training during delivery phase
Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications:
- Minimum Level 3 Technical Certificate in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent
- Proven experience within Electrical/Engineering
- Proficiency in the use of IT hardware and software within the workplace
- Competent electrical practical and hand skills
Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualifications:
- Previous instructional experience in a military or civilian engineering environment
- Level 4 Teaching Qualification or DTC Defence Trainer Course or equivalent

This role is offered on a term time basis working 45 weeks per year, with non‑working weeks taken 2 weeks at Christmas and Easter and 3 weeks in August. The salary will therefore be pro‑rata and calculated to include contractual annual leave entitlement and bank holidays.
