We are recruiting for an experienced Yard Supervisor to join our brand new branch in Glasgow. This is a full-time role working Monday – Friday 10:30 – 20:00.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support the Yard Manager in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe yard environment, ensuring all safety and operational standards are consistently upheld.
  • Act as the day-to-day point of contact for Yard Assistants, providing clear direction, support, and accountability to meet service and operational goals.
  • Monitor and coordinate yard activities to ensure the accurate and efficient processing of customer orders, collections, and transfers.
  • Assist in planning and executing inbound and outbound deliveries, preparing loads in a timely manner to maximise efficiency.
  • Liaise with branch sales colleagues to ensure full understanding of customer needs.
  • Ensure team compliance with Health & Safety procedures, including conducting spot checks, coaching on safe practices, and reporting any risks or incidents.
  • Support new colleagues with onboarding and on-the-job training to ensure smooth integration and performance.
  • Coach and develop team members on systems usage (e.g., HHT), operational best practices, and product knowledge to build capability and confidence.
  • Step in to handle and resolve customer issues on-site promptly and professionally, escalating when necessary.
  • Oversee stock movement, flag discrepancies, and work with the Yard Manager to ensure availability and correct stock placement.
  • Actively participate in daily briefings and pass on key communication and updates from management to the yard team.
  • Lead by example in using technology and promoting a culture of accuracy, safety, and customer service excellence.
