Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Load and unload food and equipment as directed, ensuring high standards and no customer complaints
- Ensure all loads are secured safely and signed for at collection points
- Comply with all Gate Gourmet and customer security procedures
- Follow all health, safety, and hygiene requirements, including correct manual handling techniques
- Drive a van when required
- Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects using the appropriate procedures
- Take responsibility for company and customer property Report all accidents and take appropriate preventative action
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and non-verbally, at all levels
- Maintain accurate records in the daily log and review it at the start of each shift
- Remain flexible and adaptable within the role
- Carry out quality checks and implement improvements where necessary
- Assist with follow-up actions from Quality Assurance and Health & Safety reports
- Perform any other duties as required
Education
- GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent)
- Work Experience
- A valid, clean UK driving licence is essential
- Good standard of written and spoken English
- Previous experience in a similar role is desirable
- Experience working in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong reading and writing skills in English
- Good customer service skills
- Positive and proactive attitude
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong team player
Previous experience in catering or hospitality is desirable but not essential.
You must be willing to work shifts and be eager to learn.
