We are hiring a General Manager (GM), Sovereign Satellite Product Line & Commercialization to serve as the global leader for Vantor’s next-generation Pulse satellite constellation. This senior executive will own the entire global lifecycle of the Sovereign Satellite product line—bridging the gap between international commercial capture and final program delivery. The GM will combine deep global market knowledge, regulatory insights, and competitive intelligence with the technical acumen necessary to steer engineering, production, and execution teams. This leader will help build the Sovereign Satellite portfolio into a standalone, scalable business unit globally, collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and regional sales teams to ensure that when sovereign programs are captured, they are successfully executed, localized, and delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Executive Leadership & Product Line Governance
- End-to-End Program Ownership: Own the ultimate delivery and execution roadmap for the sovereign satellite product line globally, transitioning programs seamlessly from design and development into production, launch, and delivery.
- Cross-Functional Delivery Authority: Drive delivery responsibility across the global partner base; act as one of the key decision-makers on delivery slots, backlog prioritization, and resource allocation in coordination with technical teams.
- P&L and Business Unit Management: Establish the cross-functional structure, KPIs, and operational frameworks required to build the sovereign satellite business as a high-performing, and ultimately standalone product line on a global scale.
- Matrixed Alignment: Bridge the gap between GTM teams and engineering/constellation build teams to build a unified, cross-functional delivery machine.
- Global GTM & Commercial Architecture
- Global GTM Strategy: Define and execute the worldwide GTM strategy, market segmentation, route-to-market, and strategic prioritization across all key international regions.
- Pricing, Packaging & Monetization: Design, operationalize, and iterate complex commercial models (e.g., subscription capacity, tasking-as-a-service, tiered access, and enterprise/sovereign bundles) tailored for international defense and civil ministries.
- Sales Enablement & Execution: Build institutional hunting playbooks, capture strategies, and standardized pricing tools. Partner directly with the company’s ELT and the Regional Sales VPs worldwide as the executive commercial lead to shape, position, and close high-value, complex sovereign pursuits.
- Technical Oversight, Localization & Industrial Participation
- Technical & Market Convergence: Translate complex technical satellite capabilities, payload specifications, and orbital mechanics into high-value commercial offerings and robust business cases worldwide.
- Sovereign Localization & Offsets: Design and execute in-country industrial participation, technology transfer, and offset programs to meet strict country-specific contracting, regulatory, and licensing requirements globally.
- Ecosystem Development: Build strategic partnerships and cultivate local industrial/technology ecosystems to accelerate international adoption and satisfy sovereign ownership frameworks.
- Lifecycle Planning: Oversee end-to-end operational planning, encompassing hardware production, launch integration, on-orbit commissioning, and local operator training.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications
- Global Senior Leadership Experience: Extensive experience in a GM, Business Unit Leader, or Senior Director role managing complex, high-value product lines or strategic business units within the satellite, aerospace, defense, or space sectors with a clear international or global scope.
- Proven Delivery Track Record: Demonstrable success not just in closing deals, but in managing the full lifecycle of launching, commercializing, and delivering a new satellite constellation, Earth Observation product, SAR Product, or spatial intelligence platform internationally.
- Market & Technical Acumen: Strong foundational knowledge of satellite and aerospace technologies paired with an expert-level understanding of the global GEOINT market, international competitive landscape, and EO and SAR value chains.
- Sovereign Procurement Expertise: Deep understanding of international government procurement, military/civil buying cycles, EXIM limitations, and national security licensing/regulations across multiple regions.
- Financial & Commercial Mastery: Proven experience designing sophisticated pricing architectures, managing P&L dynamics, and building data-driven GTM forecasts.
- Executive Presence: Exceptional communication skills with a track record of serving as a trusted advisor to senior government officials, defense ministries, and global C-suite executives.
- Willingness to Travel: Ability to travel extensively internationally as required to support key pursuits and global partner reviews.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Established Global Network: Existing high-level relationships within European, Middle Eastern, APAC, or allied global government space and defense organizations.
- Industrial Participation Expertise: Direct experience managing sovereign localization models, offsets, or complex international joint ventures across diverse regulatory environments.
- Scale Experience: Experience successfully scaling a business unit within a high-growth technology or aerospace organization, transforming “one-off” project deliveries into a standardized, repeatable global product line.
