Job Overview

An Executive is responsible for managing sales relationships with existing client accounts as well as prospecting new clients and accounts. They serve as the interface between clients and the Dealing Team, working closely with Compliance and Risk to ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines. The role holder requires knowledge of all Monex’s products and the regulatory framework under which they operate to successfully market these products to new and existing clients, ensuring the clients’ long‑term interests are prioritised with fair and equitable outcomes for both the role holder and the firm.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Actively involved in all aspects of the 360 Sales Cycle: Prospecting & Lead generation (sourcing & pitching).
  • Planning Sales calls, Meetings, Post Call follow-ups.
  • Presentations & Documentation.
  • Owning/Implementing Sales.
  • Post Sale Follow-Up, Repeat Sales & Upselling.
  • Developing & maintaining strong client relationships (via Trading team where appropriate).
  • Maintaining current market knowledge (e.g. reading financial press, attending webinars etc.).
  • Maintaining an accurate pipeline and forecast.
  • Meeting set Sales targets/KPIs on a weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual basis, with a particular focus on generating new revenue and acquiring new clients.
  • Keeping accurate records and client interaction notes in the company database FXDB (in line with GDPR requirements).

Compliance, Risk & Regulatory

  • Working effectively and collaboratively with Financial Crime and Regulatory Compliance teams to complete the client onboarding process in line with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring adequate knowledge of the client (KYC) to enable the firm to deliver appropriate and suitable products and services.
  • Consulting with Risk and Traders regarding credit facilities.
  • Engaging with the client with integrity, ensuring high service standards and in accordance with Monex policies.
  • Understanding and adhering to Monex’s complaints procedure and escalating where necessary.
  • Identifying and appropriately managing conflicts of interest in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Ensuring that the role as the first line of defence is undertaken with diligence.
  • Ensuring adherence to the FCA’s 11 principles of business.

Business Knowledge / Technical Skills

  • Previous sales experience within a Business to Business (B2B) role.
  • Experience of working within a regulated financial services firm is highly desirable.
  • Proven history of operating at an Executive level within a commercial sales environment (both face‑to‑face and telephone sales).
  • Able to clearly articulate a full understanding of end‑to‑end sales processes.
  • Able to demonstrate strong sales techniques (Persuasive, Negotiation & Closing skills).
  • Understanding the purpose of risk management and compliance within a regulated environment.
  • Some knowledge of FX products.
