Full time, 37.5 hours a week (Term‑time only – 45 weeks). Location: HMS Collingwood. Eligibility: UK Security Clearance at SC level. Project Selborne is a transformative training programme with a strategic goal of modernising Royal Navy training to deliver better trained sailors to the front line faster. The purpose of this role is to deliver training on navigational, positional data, and basic engineering principles to Royal Navy students on their Phase 3 career courses.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Deliver training on Naval Navigational and positional Data systems plus basic Engineering principles in support of the RN Weapon Engineering (WE) Department.
  • Work collaboratively with Learning & Development and the Training Delivery staff to identify and support a personalised approach to learning and development.
  • Use performance data and insights to drive continuous improvement across training establishments.
  • Identify and share best practices to enhance training quality and consistency across locations.
  • Implement standardised systems and processes for delivering training across all RN establishments.
  • Ensure training KPIs and SLAs are met, including for simulated and synthetic learning programmes.

Qualifications – What we’re looking for:

Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in maintaining sensor systems (Navigational / Gyro).
  • Team player with experience leading and collaborating across teams to ensure successful delivery of training.
  • Experience working with mid‑level stakeholders.

Desirable Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Level 3 teaching certificate or equivalent (will be enrolled onto an internal training course if not held).
  • Military weapon engineering sensor systems maintenance or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of RN, WE departmental workings or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of WE section maintenance procedures.
  • Experience in managing and maintaining RN WE sensor equipment.
