As a member of the Fabric Engineering team, you’ll have access to the research, knowledge, and tools to create leading‑edge solutions across Avanade’s Data & AI practice. The role of Fabric Engineer is ideal for ambitious technologists who are passionate about working with the latest Microsoft Fabric technologies to deliver modern, highly scalable data platforms that underpin our clients’ analytics and AI ambitions. What you’ll do:
- Design, develop, and deliver enterprise‑grade analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric.
- Evangelise and evolve best practices for both clients and colleagues, mentoring team members and supporting their personal development.
- Continuously develop your technical skills across Microsoft Fabric and AI technologies, achieving and maintaining relevant certifications.
- Work directly with high‑profile clients across a variety of sectors to understand requirements and present solutions to senior customer stakeholders.
Skills and experience:
- Proven Microsoft Fabric delivery experience, with a strong background in data engineering.
- Demonstrable end‑to‑end experience delivering data engineering solutions, including large‑scale projects.
- Experience working with modern Microsoft Fabric and Azure technologies, such as Synapse, Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage (Gen2), Purview, Cosmos DB, OpenAI, Azure ML, and AI Foundry.
- Solid understanding of software engineering concepts, with hands‑on experience using Python, Scala or PySpark, data modelling techniques, database technologies, and SQL.
- Confident communicator, able to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences and mentor junior colleagues.
- For Senior Consultant roles: experience leading small development teams, tracking work, managing assignments, and supporting delivery capacity.
