As a Floor Ambassador, you will be the friendly, helpful face of our event spaces, providing essential on-site support to clients and the Event Management team. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth execution of events by serving as a readily available point of contact, assisting with last-minute needs, and proactively addressing any issues that arise.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a visible, approachable point of contact for event hosts and attendees in assigned event spaces.
  • Proactively offer assistance and support to clients with immediate requests and inquiries.
  • Act as a runner on the floor, efficiently addressing last-minute needs from the Event Management team and clients.
  • Liaise with various service line partners (catering, AV, security, and room setup) and vendors to facilitate quick resolutions and fulfill requests.
  • Troubleshoot basic on-site issues and elevate more complex matters to the Event Management team.
  • Assist with basic room setups and adjustments, including moving tables, chairs, and other light equipment as needed.
  • Support the setup and distribution of event materials, including signage, stationery, badges, and giveaways.
  • Handle light manual tasks, such as lifting/moving boxes up to 10kg (22lbs), and transporting items between event spaces and storage areas.
  • Ensure event spaces remain tidy and well-maintained throughout the event.
  • Provide wayfinding assistance and answer general questions about the event and venue.
  • Support guest registration and check-in processes as needed.
  • Assist with post-event breakdown and tidying of event spaces.
  • Communicate effectively with the Event Management team regarding any issues, requests, or observations.

Qualifications

  • Entry-level position; some customer-service, hospitality, or event-support experience preferred but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer-service orientation.
  • Positive and proactive attitude with a genuine desire to help others.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.
  • Ability to handle multiple requests and prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Must work fully on-site within specific event spaces on campus.
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, and potentially weekends as needed.
