We have opportunities for Junior/Assistant Geotechnical Engineers or Engineering Geologists located across all our UK offices, to support our impressive portfolio of prestigious geotechnical projects both in the UK and internationally. We need to increase our team to meet the growing demands from our clients, especially in the infrastructure sector (particularly rail, highways, defence & water) and the energy sector which includes carbon capture & storage, renewable energy, low carbon engineering and nuclear power. The successful applicant will be a Junior / Assistant Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist with a degree in civil engineering or geology/geoscience and a post graduate qualification in a geotechnical subject. You should have relevant professional experience and be actively working towards chartered status. Candidates will be part of teams where your contributions matter, and you can build strong, collaborative relationships working on a diverse range of strategic projects across the infrastructure and energy sectors.
A good academic background with a degree in civil engineering or geology / geoscience and a post graduate qualification in a geotechnical subject. A good understanding of ground investigation techniques. Proven site experience including ground investigation supervision, site walkover surveys/ geotechnical inspections. Geotechnical design experience of structures, foundations and earthworks. Experience in general numerical software such as Geostudio, Repute, Wallap etc. Working towards Chartered status. Experience of working in a fast‑moving engineering consultancy environment. Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with clients and engineers from other disciplines. Excellent report writing skills with the ability to self‑check and produce accurate work. A willingness to travel on short assignments both within the UK and overseas. A valid UK driving licence.
