Location: Markham Vale site, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, UK.

Work Hours: 12‑hour day shift (7 am‑7 pm) on a 2‑week rotating cycle, including every other weekend. The role requires onsite cover during holiday absences.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out day‑to‑day maintenance activities and support the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) system.
  • Ensure plant equipment is maintained for safe, efficient, and continuous operation.
  • Follow all legal, regulatory, and company engineering standards.
  • Assist with installation and implementation of capital projects.
  • Support the control and coordination of contractors on site.
  • Work collaboratively within the Maintenance team to achieve objectives.
  • Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety, environmental, and quality performance.
  • Follow risk assessments, permits, and safe systems of work at all times.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping in areas of responsibility.
  • Act as a proactive and responsible member of the engineering team.

Qualifications

  • Time served engineering qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • Good general level of education.
  • Experience in a processing or manufacturing environment (preferred 5+ years).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Good numerical, communication, and reasoning abilities.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental practices (or willingness to develop).
