We are looking for motivated and high‑calibre experienced electricians to join us at our London (West Thurrock) Site. We’re a build‑from‑within company, meaning we’re looking for those interested in building a career, not just a job with us.
Responsibilities:
- The maintenance of electrical equipment and troubleshooting circuit problems, including installing, rebuilding, commissioning or repairing electrical equipment as needed.
- While on shift, you will be required to assist with all service calls.
- Working closely within the operating area you’re assigned to, providing insights into the work team to ensure that business goals are achieved.
- Proactively assisting operations technicians in troubleshooting and emergency repairs, as well as supporting and learning Mechanical Maintenance skills and tasks as necessary.
- Safety is a priority at P&G. You will be responsible for your personal safety as well as assisting where you can with the safety of other team members and contractors. This includes ensuring all safety rules and safe work procedures are followed, reporting near misses, and maintaining housekeeping.
- Productivity and Reliability: you will need to safely troubleshoot issues by reading logic in PLCs and other control equipment, use diagnostic equipment and troubleshoot issues related to production‑machine coordinated drives.
- You will also need to maintain the SAP Plan Maintenance System, following all computer‑based and paper processes for work order completion and documentation.
This role is shift based, meaning you will be required to work a 12‑hour shift pattern, with a mixture of both days and nights.
What we offer you:
- Competitive Salary: The starting salary for this role is £49,171 per annum, with opportunity to grow to £54,281 in the same role and an additional shift premium of £173 per week. Every P&G employee’s salary is reviewed annually.
- Generous Pension: The Company will contribute double the amount you contribute towards your pension savings, up to a maximum company contribution of 14% of your pensionable pay.
- Annual Leave: You will start with 25 days’ annual leave entitlement (plus bank holidays), increasing with length of service up to 30 days.
- 1‑4‑1 Shares: For every share that you purchase, the Company will purchase a share on your behalf. You can contribute up to 2.5% of your salary into the 1‑4‑1 Share Plan, up to a maximum of £150 a month.
- Private Medical Insurance: Our Private Medical Insurance Plan, currently delivered by AXA Health, provides eligible employees with access to private medical treatment, if they wish. Eligible employees can request for their partner and/or eligible dependent children to be included on their cover.
- Great Working Environment: P&G has had operations in West Thurrock since the 1940s and the site is of great importance for the company. On‑site we offer a friendly work environment with lots of great local benefits such as a free onsite gym, discounted restaurant, free parking, Occupational Health support, local events and more.
Job Qualifications:
- Qualified to a minimum of ONC/C&G Part III or HNC/NVQ Level 3 in an Electrical Engineering apprenticeship.
- Proven electrical experience in either process or a production environment in the Fast‑Moving Consumer Goods or similar industry.
