We are hiring an Electrical Engineer with strong experience in high voltage design and power systems to support the delivery of utility-scale energy infrastructure. This is a hands‑on engineering role focused on real asset delivery. You will work across the full project lifecycle, from design through to commissioning, on large‑scale solar and grid‑connected infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design across utility-scale renewable projects, including HV systems up to and beyond 33kV
- Deliver key design components including protection schemes, cable sizing, transformer selection and earthing design
- Work across the full project lifecycle, from early‑stage design through to construction, commissioning and energisation
- Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure designs are buildable, compliant and delivered at pace
- Support grid connection design and interface with DNOs / TSOs where required
- Contribute to rapid project execution, solving technical challenges in a fast‑moving delivery environment
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within the UK energy or infrastructure sector
- Proven experience working on projects involving voltages up to at least 33kV
- Familiarity with UK standards and grid requirements
- Renewable energy projects (solar, wind, BESS)
- Power generation or power stations
- Transmission or distribution networks
- Data centres or other critical infrastructure
- Strong experience in: Protection systems, Earthing / grounding systems
Nice to Have
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards it (IET preferred)
