Our team is looking for a Mid-Level Backend Engineer to join the group developing Adobe's Administration Platform — a collaborative and multi-skilled engineering team located in Edinburgh, crafting scalable, high-impact systems that serve millions globally. What You Will Do:
- Compose, build, and maintain reliable, high-performance backend services and APIs
- Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver end-to-end features
- Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback
- Contribute to architectural discussions and help build technical direction
- Write clean, well-tested, well-documented code
- Help identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and reliability issues
- Build tooling and automation to reduce operational burdens
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to an encouraging team culture
What We're Looking For:
- 2–6 years of professional backend engineering experience
- Proficiency in one or more backend languages (e.g. Java, Python, Go, Scala, Node.js)
- Experience building and maintaining RESTful or GraphQL APIs
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and microservices architecture
- Understanding of databases — relational and/or NoSQL
- Experience developing with Spring, Spring Boot, and Hibernate
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and methodologies, including tools such as Argo CD
- Experience working with monitoring platforms like New Relic, Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus, or Grafana
- Exposure to infrastructure and deployment tooling such as Terraform, Docker, or Kubernetes
- A collaborative approach and clear written and verbal communication skills
- Curiosity, a growth mindset, and a dedication to continuous learning
